  • What to be waiting for after biometrics appointment

    Filed I-485 I-130 I-131 I-765

    Filed jan 2
    received NOA Jan 9
received Biometrics appointment for Feb 12
    completed biometrics appointment.
    live in boston

Guys, i know there is a lot of people here who have the knowledge to help me, even if it is a little bit.
Im going through hard times now and if anybody that has filed near my date, please share your experience after the biometrics appointment
Not saying i want to get my EAD so i can start working properly, but you know im anxiously waiting and checking the mail everyday. The USCIS
website has not updated since the time the case was received and thats the only message i get.

I talked to my lawyer and he said me and my spouse have a pretty solid case, but one thing that bothered me was his overall unwillingness to say
whether i could relax and not worry about ending up not getting the green card or not.
Im still afraid of being deported for some random reason, since he said they have the right to deny any case for any reason.

I think everyone who has been through this has felt the same way.
anyone in my area? please help, thanks.

Hi, I think you need to relax, most people wait for many months until they get an update.

And for what is next? Well some people get courtesy letter for medical exam (form I-693), but some don't. Some people get RFE for other things, but some don't. Some people get "fingerprint review completed", some don't. Some people get interview ready to be scheduled after a couple of months, but wait many more months for the interview date, others don't get the update until a couple of weeks before the interview letter. Some cases finish around 8 months, others take more time. Is not uncommon to see people without updates, after fingerprints, for 3-4 months.
Nov 2018 - Package sent - EB - Texas Service Center
Day 1 - Package received at the lockbox
Day 999 - Card delivered to me - Aug 2021
      ---
All my posts are based on my experience or information I read on the forums or the USCIS website. I may be wrong. Please consult a professional.

Thank you, i submitted my medical exam with the other forms, from your words i believe now it is a waiting game.
I applied also for a work permit, would you be able to give an estimate on that as well? thank you very much for your help i appreciate that.

From other people reporting, the work permit for people married to USC it is taking on average 6 months. You can read the threads for August, September and October filers to see how most of the cases fall within 5-7 months.

there is a case processing times tool on the USCIS website. Its quite general but gives you an idea, especially when it comes to your particular field office.

My best advice is dont check the site every day, dont call them up expecting answers, there are none. Its hard but you just have to learn to live and let the process do its thing. The EAD is a big thing - if you can prove you are in financial difficulty you can request to expedite.

All things to be found on the website too

Thank you very much, im not in a financial hardship, so that does not apply to my current situation, but it is good to know that there is that option. Sucks big time that the general wait is around 6-7 months. My expectation was to have the card in my hands by that time frame, only thing i can do now is wait and pray.
