Need help Is it ok to File 485 when out of US

Hi Guys,
I am out of US right now, but I had submitted all my documents to my lawyer for filing of I485 before leaving US. Is it a big risk and is it ok to file for I485 when I am out of US, I cannot be back to US before end of Sep'07 and so i might miss the CURRENT status for filing 485 if I dont go ahead and file for 485.
Please advice.

you can adjust status only when you are in a particlar status in USA. when abroad you dont ahve any status. You need to be in US to file USCIS. Each applicant has to be meaning you cannot file for dependents while they are abroad.

So get back asap if you want to keep the deadline.
