Does any one have approved 485 form CSC?

Hi-

Here are some approvals with the CSC:

filed: 5/1/01 approved: 2/13/02
filed: 5/2/01 approved: 2/2/02
filed: 7/2/01 approved: 3/5/02
filed: 7/3/01 approved: 2/28/02
filed: 7/8/01 approved: 3/7/02

Every case is different, though, so don't worry if your case was filed around the same time and is still pending. The INS a "first-in, first-out" place. Files are taken out of turn and processed by different officers who work at different speeds.

My wife and I got our I-485 approval notice from CSC today.

I-485 RD: Sep 07 2001
I-485 ND: Sep 25 2001
FP notice date: Nov 24 2001
AP approved: Nov 29 2001
EAD approved: Dec 11 2001
FP done: Dec 26 2001
I-485 approved: Apr 08 2002

Hi,
I have had my FP done on Jan21 '02 and the phone message at CSC says the results of FP has been receivedand case is resumed...but after that its stagnant!!! No change to msg or any mails - Does anyone know if there is something going on ?

Hi hkg777,

No issues with that! Most of the times these messages are not updated. Just like the official figure of about 900 days they say will take to get your 485 approved.

In general, it has been taking about 7-8 months from the filing date for 485 approval at CSC. You should be expecting an approval sometime around July 02. Let it take it's own time and enjoy!

A Concern....

Hi gcforbera!

Thanks for the response....but I am concerned since my H1B expires in June' 02 and extn has been filed in Apr 02! I guesss it would be a close call...but will that cause problems if I have international travel plans! Any ideas?

I'm not sure whether you will need to have a valid visa to use Advance Parole (if you got one already). Please consult your lawyer about that. If not, you could just travel on your old visa and advance parole. Otherwise you will have to wait for the visa extension to be approved.

My receipt date is 26/09/01
My notice date is 01/10/01
Ap approved on 29/12/01
RFE on EAD on 01/15/02 for Signature cards...My lawyer send the response to an RFE on 03/26/02.Not approved so far...i don't know how long it is going to take for the approval for EAD after an RFE.Any help will be appreciated.
Finger print done on 04/12/02.
Any one of you have any idea when the processing of I-485 begins after the finger printing.I check with FBI they said they already send the response to INS on the following day,Even i check with INS customer serviceshe told me they received the finger printing report from FBI.Any comments from U guys!!!

You should be getting the good news soon.

CA is going real fast. While I-551 stamping, my wife and I were told we should expect the plastic cards in 6-9 months. We got after 19 days!

U know what? my lawyer is a big idiot he screwed the case by not sending the signature card while applying the EAD with same receipt and notice date as of I-485.

My Advance payroll was approved on 29th DEC 2001.I got an RFE for signature card on jan 15th again my idiot lawyer put the case on his table for 2 months not responding to the RFE immediately he repond to it after i remeber him he send the Information to INS on 26 th of March 2002.

When i talk to INS they said they received the response to RFE on 26th March 2002 and finger printing on 23 April 2002.
Do you have any idea how long it is going to take to start working on my I485 after receiving the finger printing any help from any one of you or from Immihelp will be appreciated.

Hi sameer,

I did not answer your question as I am not sure of the sequence in which they work within the INS.

I don't know whether 485 processing would completely stop in the absence the fingerprints, or it might go ahead with other necessities.

My EAD came through even before I had FP notice, obviously without any fingerprint. I don't know why they would need the FP, if the EAD does not necessarily need it. For the issue of the plastic Green Card, they will need your new FP during passport stamping anyway.

It's a mystery to me.

Prepone FP

Hello Guys,
When you recieve your FP scheduled date. If you are very sure that you can make it on that date.. well do go ahead at will....

Else you can always go before hand to some Service Centre ( they have walk-in's on some days ) and get your FP done. This cuts the risk of not being able to make it to the scheduled date.

Use this data at your own discretion...
