Filed I-485

I came with a K-1 visa and got married within the required time, i.e. 90 days. We however filed the I-485 application after the I-94 expired. It expired in December and we only applied for the adjustment on February 2008. Is there any possibility it will be denied because the application was past the expiration date of the I-94? Am a little bit worried.

Did you send a letter explaining why it was late?

No we didn't do so. In fact we only knew about it when we were trying to apply in February. It didn't occur to us that it was one of the requirement. We only thought that the fact we were married was enough.

The case is now in the California Center, what do you advise us to do?
