Date of Birth problem

Hi,
My date of birth as registrered in the municipal office(Mumbai) is different from all the other records including passport. This is because a wrong date was entered at the time of school admission which was used thereafter.
Did anyone have the same problem ? Pl. let me know how you
solved it.

Do You have correct birth certificate from the hospital you born? if you have then you can show it to the Municipal corp. and also get the affidavit from your parents about your correct birth date. But as you know in india it is time consuming method. I don't know what it requires now..One of my friend have done it long time back. ou can enquire about it in municipal corp.

The municipal office does have a registration of my birth. But all my documents including passport have a different date. Should the correct BC with parent's affidavit clarifying it be ok or do I need to get the passport corrected ?

Sorry but I am not able to understand. First you said birthdate is registered incorrectly and after that you said it is not registered. I think you should consult your lawyer.

But I got it by submitting affidivites from parents and me...showing origibnal school leaving cert and passport
and paisa pheko tamasha dekho

please explain how you did it. When my father went to get the certificate of non availability from the municipality of my birth in India, the municipality person registered the birth ( with my correct date of birth which is in all my documents also including passport , school leaving certificate etc) and issued a certificate of birth saying that the undermentioned details of birth are taken form the original register of the municipality. this cer is signed by the registrar. My lawyer says it cannot be used. I have affidavits from parents too. But lawyer says affidavits can be used only with cert. of non availability. what do I do pl help. anybody who has faced such situation.
