Wow. What a journey.
My case is from July 2017! Feels like a decade ago. Naive me and my wife thought we would have our interview by December of that year. We were so wrong. So much waiting, so much research being done. Interview happened finally March of this year in Oakland Park, FL. Interview went well but my medical was expired. RFE comes in around beginning of May, sent the response in June. Then a couple of weeks ago i got a SECOND RFE for a dumb misdemeanor from when i was 17. I could not initially find info on it. I was scared to talk about it with my wife! I found the court paperwork, overnighted then the wait just.. kept.. going. Every little notification on my phone was another hope. I lost sleep, but then dreamt about traveling with my wife and friends. I almost.. ALMOST lost hope. But here i am.. on my way to Chicago (my job requires that i travel) half asleep. I feel the notification on my apple watch and ignore it. “It’s not it, keep sleeping.” Then i wake up and see it. A text from USCIS saying “your case has been updated”, the i-485 case. The one that matters. I immediately buy a 30 mins wifi slot then go online. Text my wife that I’m scared and a screenshot of the text message. “What if i was denied?” Then i check my status. “Your case was approved.” I basically start sobbing.. lol. I text my wife and family. It’s a digital party going on. And I’m thousands of feet above.
Today I’m finally complete. It’s over! Thank you guys for EVERYTHING!! This forum was my stone for so many years.
