I called them 3-4 times and finally got to speak to a Tier 2 officer... her explanation for the missing biometrics was they the processing time for Colorado was really long and that they were waiting to do the biometrics because it has to be used within a specific time frame (to be honest though, I don't believe much of this explanation.... I got 2 different stories from different officers). So I said 'okay, but EAD should be processed within 3 months, why can't I have biometrics for my EAD?'. I got biometrics appointment less than a week after this phone call, but only for the EAD, not the I-485.

I got the biometrics for the I-485 about 3 weeks later and now my greencard is being produced - another reason why I don't believe her story.... I honestly believe they just make up stuff on the phone to stop people from complaining.... but that is just my humble opinion

Thanks for the info! I’m trying to stay patient (not easy) but we did raise a SR because almost all the other October 2019 filers have already received theirs. When I talked to an L1 officer before filing the SR, she did say it could take up to 60 days to schedule. I guess we just have to wait at this point and let them respond even though it’s giving me such major anxiety

Also came in on an ESTA. It took me pretty much exactly 5 months to get my EAD....
But it ALSO took them 4½ months to schedule my biometrics. Once that was over I got my EAD in hand about 2 weeks later.
I wonder why it took so long to schedule your biometrics. I had mine and listed on the paper when I was there was for both I-485 and I-765. So why did they take so long for you? That’s crazy long to wait for biometrics. Do you think I should phone them at all.. or allow the 3 - 4 weeks for the FBI to do the background check first?

How long after my biometrics appointment will I receive my EAD?

I have a cruise booked for March 1st, 2020 and do not wish to miss this.
I filed on July 31, and I had my EAD status change to "New Card is Being Produced" yesterday. A little less than 4 months wait. I was honestly expecting for it to change around January-February, and a lot of people who filed in July still didn't get theirs. So each case is different.

800 375 5283 is the USCIS Service number.it is an automated system, so if you get asked: do you have your receipt number, you have to push the number 2 ( for No!),only then you'll be connected to a real person

You mean to talk to a Tier 2 officer? It's the normal USCIS number and just request a callback from Tier 2. You have to call early in the morning though....
