  • Longest I-485 AOS Interview -Approved on the Spot!

    San Diego CA.
Husband of a US Citizen (C9)

It was a roller coaster ride for me to take this AOS route to become a legitimate green card residence here in states.
The time has come to bid a farewell goodbye for awhile until the next battle will again begin for the I-751(10 years green card).
Yesterday was my longest hours of interview experienced for my I-485 AOS. For more than two and half hours (2 1/2 ) of intensive
interview I finally got approved for my green card on the spot. after the interviewed concluded, about 2 hours, I received a text messages
that my green card is being produced! what a huge relief. Now, I can finally sleep peacefully and can even relax while waiting for my
green card to arrive in the mail. On top of that , I am also waiting for my job orientation date which I expect to be next week as well.

      Thank you!
Well, I thought our interview was short and breezy as most of the applicant that has interviewed ahead of us was just barely reach half hour for their interview.
I was totally wrong. After our sworn I do, the officer started with my wife to ask question, she's questioning and at the same time WRITING the question and answer on paper!
after about 10 minutes it was my turn and she did the same thing, question ans answer and writing on paper. when she ask me about the yes/ no question and answer from the
application itself , I thought it was almost over.. Great! its about time to end this interview as we approached almost 1 hour of interview from my previous works, places I live and
travel I've done and how I got my US tourist visa and to all the smallest details of my reason to traveling here in the US, how me meet , who propose and where did we go..etc.
she said if I have some more documents that I need to add, I said I have some more photos and our airline boarding passes and bus passes and she took those as well the she
said she's going to have it copied, after about 3 minutes she come back and ask me again about how I acquired my US Tourist visa and what documents did I bring to the interview
and this Time she is typing all the question and answers to the COMPUTER! Oh my golly.... Some of the question is like repetitive to the point of like i question my self if she's
trying to find errors with my answers. with all the question and answers were done, It's finally over and she said she will print the question and answers for me to sign it with
other officer to witness my signing (probably it will ask again when my 2 years green card will renew and see if I have different answers...just my thought..) and then she give
a white paper with some details about how and when will I file my 10 year green card once my 2 year conditional green card is up for renewal and the form I-751 to be used
and tell me that she will recommend my green card for approval. Yey! what a relief after those grueling intense interview.
We say thank you and bid goodbye. Were the last applicant to leave the building and to think when we called in, there were a few applicant (about 5 couples) that still waiting
to be interviewed! At least we end up our day with happiness in our faces as we headed out of the building...
10/10/19- Case is ready to be scheduled for interview...
