Only Federal tax transcripts are required. You should follow your account advice. Filing NY resident taxes will support you same domicile claim with mailing address as well.
For whats it worth, USCIS only need a determination from your IRS profile that you are financially above the Income limits.

Federal tax returns or IRS transcripts are acceptable. It doesn't matter if you file jointly or separate as long as the person filling out the AOS has enough resources. If asked by the USCIS adjudicator why you're filing separate (which I highly doubt they will), you can say that your income comes from different states. No need to get into details as I'm sure they won't ask that in-depth anyway.--Good luck--
