Hello Everyone,
I want to share my experience and timeline for my marriage based AOS.
We filed back in 9/2017.
Interviewed on 4/17/2019. We were called in separately, but were not asked too much detailed questions, only the standard ones. It went well and the officer was actually very nice. We were handed a paper saying case needs to be reviewed.
Long wait since then. Several things had happened.
1. Congressional help many times: the status they were able to find out went this way: pending background check (about 6 months)- background check done - supervisor was reviewing my case - supervisor finished reviewing, case back to initial officer - pending additional review (YESTERDAY)
2. My neighbour told me one day that two homeland security officer stopped by and talked to him about me (during the background check period). I asked him if they asked anything about my marriage, he said no, stating that they only asked about me and my job.
3. Ombudsman's office inquiry, was told that USCIS was actively reviewing my case (last month).
Anyone on the same boat? I'm so frustrated! What are they reviewing? How long can it take??? Why are they giving my case such a hard time.
I guess my next option is to sue USCIS? I'm seriously considering the option.
Please share your experience.
