  • Advance parole document

    Hello,
I recently filed GC application for my parents but did not include advance parole application.

Now that it has been over 4 months since we applied , and my parents would like to make a trip to India, I was considering applying for the advance parole. The form requires a justification/ reason for travel.

Can others who have previously applied , please help with what reasons they gave.

    Thanks,
    Aarti

The justification is very common. Just say "visiting family and friends". That does the trick for most people. You don't have to have a life-or-death emergency to get advance parole.

Good luck. I learned the hard way, I hope you don't have to. Immigration is interesting. Not considered as legal advice.

I don't see the justification/reason for travel. Are you talking about Part 4? That section is for DACA related AP, you should skip Part 4, 5 and 6.

Good luck, my guess is that your parents will get the GC before the AP.

If you file Form I-131 separately, you must also submit a copy of your Form I-797, Notice of Action, receipt as
evidence that you filed and paid the fee for Form I-485

If you’re applying for AP via I-131 based on a pending I-485, you don’t need to justify why or determine when (I put down “TBD” for the box asking for anticipated travel dates).

That being said, wait times are now about 5 to 7 months, so there’s a chance you’ll get your interview before then.
