  • I-765 Submitting Case Inquiry for Longer than Normal Processing Time

Hello everyone! I just wanted to see if anyone has had to submit a case inquiry for I-765 because their PD had passed? If so, I would like to hear about your experiences: how long did it take for a decision, did they require you to submit any additional docs, likelihood of approval, etc.

Background: Married a USC and file the entire packet back in June 2019. I submitted the case inquiry last week and I was told in an email that I should expect a reply by Feb 4. I don't know what I should be expecting so I'm hoping someone who has done the same can share some insight!

Generally, they say 15 days but they take around 30 days( USCIS representative will tell you that on call). I filled outside normal case on 27th Dec 2019. But still did not get any reply.

Have you gotten any update on your inquiry for case being outside normal processing time? My I-130 is outside normal processing time. I put in an inquiry on 1/22/2020, I called on 2/2/2020 and they told me I have to wait 30 days from inquiry date.

Is expediting EAD only allowed for cases that have taken over 90 days/over processing time? Or you can request expedite anytime

You can try it anytime, the most used reason is for financial hardship, like paying off student loans or if you have a pending job offer. But,try it- they decide case by case.i tried it,and it got denied but, nothing to loose, worth trying!

I don’t believe it has to be outside processing time. I think you just have to prove why it is needed. Usually job offer or proof of financial hardship. I did it based on financial hardship and was approved.

I did it through Emma chat.just type: speak to an officer.you'll get connected and need to answer a few questions, like what form (I-765),your name, adress, etc.then you be asked about your issue/question. Type: I want to expedite EAD. You'll get an email telling you, what team got assigned to your case, and you need to respond within 48 hours, fax evidence. They'll give you a fax number.Evidence, like job offer or proof of financial hardship. But you can also call the uscis service hotline and talk to an officer, wich ever feels more comfortable to you .

Oh,forgot to tell you: when you gax the evidence, you'll need to also send a copy of the email you received from uscis and write a cover letter!

Update: I made case inquiry for I-765 outside normal processing time on February 11th, but it's not even assigned yet. But,got update for I-485: case ready to be scheduled for interview! So,what about EAD?? Do I get it now or do they just skip that,do the interview and I get greencard?? Any experiences??
