  • Material to bring to interview (married to a USC)

    Hello everyone,

I just received my notice for my interview today. Our P/d is June 12, 2019, we are currently live in San Diego. I have some concern for the notice.

They ask me to bring a complete Affidavit of Support (I-864) with all required evidence, including federal income tax return and W2 for the most recent tax year, pay stubs for the past 2 months and evidence of your sponsor's US Citizenship. I have already submitted all those information when I file for AoS, do I need to ask my sponsor for his recent tax document and pay stubs again?

I took everything I had submitted with my AOS application along with other evidence such as bank statements, pictures, life insurance policies, etc .. I made sure to take both original and copies of all the documents I took. Had my appointment on December 19, 2019 and on December 31st I officially became a U.S resident

Tax documents may be the same, it is better to bring all the newer documents you can get (newer pay stubs).
Nov 2018 - Package sent - EB - Texas Service Center
Day 1 - Package received at the lockbox
Day 999 - Card delivered to me - Aug 2021

I had my interview on December 19, 2019 and on December 31, 2019 the status changed to “new card being produced” and on January 02 the status was changed to “we approved your form I-485” and a week later I received my green card in the mail.

It appears that the USCIS is requiring the new W2 that will reflect this new tax year 2020. They usually require updated documents to support the I864 as you near the interview date. All the best.

At the time I applied, I used the relevant, updated I864 for that time period. Individuals should ensure that the form they sign is current. Each form has an expiration date and most times before the new form becomes active USCIS gives a grace period for the use of the old form. All those updates are available on USCIS.
