Was planning to mail 485 packet TODAY - SEND OR WAIT?

We were planning to mail our 485 packet today, do you think we should wait to see what the executive order is or go ahead and get it in the mail?

I would say send it. We don’t know EO is gonna look like. It’s highly likely that once it is signed, they will stop accepting new applications or still accept them but not issue any green card till the suspension. So just mail it today because at least the postal date would be pre EO date.

I would agree, send in your application. While the executive order will probably suspend the issuance of a green card, USCIS could still process them. With the current backlog, it's highly improbable that you would get a green card before it expires anyway.

Send in your application. The executive order will most probably not affect immigration applications made by aliens who are currently INSIDE the United States.
Besides, the so-called 'immigration ban' is slated to last for 60 days only; it is temporary.

The proclamation suspends entry. It does not affect people who are already inside the US and does not affect Adjustment of Status (I-485).
