Hi guys. I found this article today. This may be the reason that we have not received receipts yet. They also want to raise the fees.
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) alerted its federal employees that furloughs are coming July 20 because of a big budget shortfall caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Thank you for sharing this information Kaylip. My general practice is to take any news from Fox news with several grains of salt. So I looked on USCIS website and there is nothing there (yet) that indicates impending furloughs and the possible effect those may have on applicants and applications. Similarly, the political push to delay immigration benefits seem to extend to new applicants outside of US and those applying within certain visa categories. Additionally, if our cases were being hindered any at all I hardly believe they would have been accepted, or payment collected, or text with a receipt number given.

The delay with the actual receipts is perhaps still connected with shipment/COVID 19 or some other internal issues. Technically the actual receipts usually would be in our hands within a week or two of getting the text message, but there is a delay. Notably, other individuals with different visa applications have started to receive new interview dates, RFEs etc . Perhaps, USCIS, as they indicated, is processing, documents in the order they were received, or perhaps they are prioritizing responses for cases requiring interviews or other processes than the usually 12-18 months or more required for our type of application -I751. Waiting can increase worries, especially when deadlines are fast coming, but we should all hang in there and hope that we will get the receipt in due time. All the best.

This has actually been in several news outlets other than fox news. Including news outlets local in missouri amongst others where some of the highest number of employees are impacted. Congress has also confirmed they are looking into the funding.

A union representing government workers is ringing the alarm that employees at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services could soon be furloughed due to funding shortfalls the agency blames on the coronavirus pandemic.

The reason no interview notices for greencards have come appear to be because field offices are focussing on citizenship ceremonies first (so that contrary to what non fox anti trump media reports, immigrant applicants can vote in time for the election as citizens)

              Hello Kaylip,

Today, June 15, 2020, I received a response to my inquiry from the USCIS Case status request through their email [email protected] and status history update (CHECK THAT FREQUENTLY). I also emailed them through [email protected]; [email protected] (no response through those emails). The status update/email informed me that they sent the actual receipt notice on May 26, 2020, the day that I received the text message with receipt number, but that the post office sent back the mail as undeliverable. That is quite odd, but it seems they sent it to the physical address other than the mailing address that we indicated on the form, yes we also included address change receipts in our application too. It is also strange that they sent it to the wrong address since my hubby (sponsor) received his address change receipt by mail to the mailing address we gave them from August 2019. Our theory is that the letter was sent back as deliverable from their first post office, when they tried to generate stamps or address the letter. If it had actually been mailed out to us, it would have been claimed by the post office where we live. Jeeshhhh, the oddness and mistake of it all.

However, they said they will re mail it and we should get it within 30-days, so I am hoping to get it by the end of this month as it is being mailed from Texas to NM. We called their number 1800 375 5283, and waited for less than 15minutes. The officer confirmed that they have since (today) updated the mailing address to our PO. and not the physical address and have already sent out the receipt. Also the biometrics notice has not yet been mailed.

Lesson 1: Please start making hard enquiries about your case, even if it is not outside of the processing time, perchance you may get to mitigate quickly.

Lesson 2: Even when you have completed every document accurately and completely the USCIS/DHS can still mess up.

All the best Kaylip and others.

Thank you for the information. I, too have not received any responses from the lockbox email. Over the weekend I tried submitting the non-delivery request via the uscis website but some options aren't working so I was unable to do it. So frustrating. I will email the same information to that case inquiry email. 30 days is too long. My card and driver's license expires in 2 weeks so I will call to make an info pass appointment and ask them if I can have the stamp because I need it. I work for a law firm and I need to keep that job.

Yes, its great that you are being proactive. Get anything that you can that will authenticate your status and keep you employed. When we called the number we notice that there were two different recordings that answered. We got through with an officer when the recording with female voice answered (it sounds ridiculous) but it works. The other male recording that answers sends you to press several numbers for other recordings. Keep trying to submit the request for 'missing notice' until you are successful. All the best.

Have you received the receipt notice or the other document you planned to use in the interim? We received ours on Monday, June 22, 2020 (after an enquiry) within a week.

Oh no! I am so sad for you. Please call the number 1800 375 5283 and speak with someone in person. Keep calling until you get the initial recording (female voice) response. That recording usually leads to a direct customer service (perhaps after a few minutes wait). Call every day and wait in line (no matter how long) until you get a human to speak with. We got our receipt 6 weeks before the green card expires and we were a bit nervous, so I can imagine how you feel now. I hope your workplace is lenient, knowing that you already submitted your application to USCIS and that COVID 19 delays things.

All the best. Praying for you.

Yea, I've called a few times. The first time they gave me the lockbox email. Never got a response. When I call, the agents and even a tier 2 officer said that my best option was to wait until I receive a response from the service request I sent out. They said that on their end they see that it has up to 07/01 to respond. My card expires 07/05. Very frustrating.

They said that on their end they see that it has up to 07/01 to respond. My card expires 07/05. Very frustrating.

Oh drat it! Did they tell you whether it was mailed or not? Geesh! If they mail it tomorrow you might get it in time. Sometimes when we call the, ones that answer will only read what they have on the monitor. The officers who respond to the enquiries/service request are the ones that do actual changes on the case. It sucks. It hurts when we have done all we can, sent in documents within an early time 90days prior to expiration of green card, and still have to wait. I hope it won't be much longer of a wait for you.

UPDATE: I checked my email after I responded to you yesterday and saw they responded to my service request. They said they mailed my receipt 05/14 but was undeliverable and USPS didn't return it. They said they will mail me a duplicate receipt.

That is a load of crock! My address is the same as always. They mailed me the i751 reminder letter without any issues. They are lying. I think something happened that's why there's a delay and are only now sending out receipts. The email said they mailed it but because they lie so much I decided to call customer care to verify. I asked the agent if any document was mailed to me and they said no, it's in production and I wouldn't receive the receipt until 1-2 weeks from now.

OH Wow getting answers is so refreshing. Glad you followed up with a call. Really hope that you get your copy by next week this time. At least you got a i751 reminder letter, we did not. So essentially both you and I have learned that following up with USCIS is mandatory. I hope you can relay this new information to your boss and they will keep you on the job for the next week or so. Praying for the best for you.
