L1B to GC via Marriage without a lawyer

Hi all

I'm consiering converting my L1B to a greencard via marriage. The process seems 'relatively' straight forward. I'm curious if anyone has took this on without the use of a lawyer and if there any guidelines on this process? I spoke to one attorney who said 'don't do this without a lawyer' which I would expect of course, but I'm wondering how many people go without a lawyer?

Many do the paperwork themselves without issues. If your case is "typical" you should not have any problems (real marriage, evidence, etc.)

I've filled out most of the forms in the last 24 hours and started gathering evidence. As you suggest, most questions are reasonaly straight forward. There's a few gotchas or questions that I'll need clarification on but everyone on the forum seems to be very helpful so I'll do some research and ask some more specific questions when I have them.
