May 2020 Filers

Hey Everyone,

I'm just trying to see if there are other people in the same boat. I sent out my i-485 application on May 19 to the Chicago Lockbox.
It has been delivered but Checks have not been cashed and I've not heard anything since. I have called USCIS and I am not in their system yet.

Any other person submitted during this time and has not heard anything back?

I send my I-485 on May 8th. It was rejected for the fact I did not filed it with I-864 which did not make no sense since I have 40 quarter and I include my SS Statement. I resubmitted on the 27th. So far they have not taken the money ( credit card). Who knows, I just want them to accept it. I am surprised they have not cash your check and they have not rejected it yet. I originally sent it on 8th. I received it back on the 20th with a rejection date of May 13th.

From what I heard is that, if you are adjusting your status when in the US, you have to submit the i864 form along with the i485,i130 and i765 same time. If you are getting filed for outside of the US, you not necessarily have to submit the i864 form until you have received further instructions from USCIS regarding your i485 when going to the US consulate in your country for your interview.

This is only true if you have not worked in the USA and earned or can be qualified for "40 qualifying quarters" per the Social Security Act. Form I-485 page 14, Item 62.a. This what is all about. The bottom of the instruction page 1 of the I-864 (told you who are eligible for an exemption of filing form I-864

I'm an employment based case (EB2NIW). I filed I485, 765, 131, 693 and 944 on May 12th (received by USCIS). My credit card got charged last night but did not get text or email. I did a live chat with USCIS rep online and got my receipt numbers this morning.

Thanks for all your replies, from other forums it seems like most people that had their packet delivered on the week of the 22nd haven't heard back either. So I'm patiently waiting

Once I was done with the interview yesterday ( in a very friendly environment), the Officer told me she approved my I-485 and will order our green cards and should receive them within 4 to 6 weeks. BUT my USCIS online account is yet to show I completed my interview. I don't know what is up with that system update.


05/08/20: I-485, I-765, I-131, I-944 sent to USCIS
05/13 Rejected due to lack of I-864
05/27 resubmitted with explanation
06/03 Rejected again-same reason
06/13 Resubmitted with I-864
07/07 Lockbox emailed back and ask to resubmit
07/09 Filings accepted with PD 05/08/20 (nice)
08/06 Prior biometrics applied to I485
08/28 Took biometrics for I-765 only
09/28 I-765's Cards Ordered
10/02 EAD/AP received
04/12 Interview Sched
05/11 Interview done approval on the spot but no USCIS update online
