  • Missed Interview - no reschedule notice after Covid

Our I-485/Green Card interview was scheduled for Mar 17. We originally received notice of the interview on Feb 7 via mail. On Mar 16 we were called and told not to come to the interview because the office was closing due to Covid. After that we followed the status of office re-openings, of course during this time the USCIS website said that applicants would receive a reschedule notice by mail. We inquired through EMMA on July 5th and received a response on July 14th via email that we should wait and we would receive a reschedule letter. On July 17th (Friday) we called USCIS and spoke with a representative; she took our information and then came back with the same response: wait for a letter. We have continued to check the USCIS site for our case status weekly - today it shows that we 'missed' our appointment that was scheduled for July 21st. Of course we never received a letter and have checked our mail every day. I guess it is possible that they sent a letter on July 20 and we haven't received it yet? (Wouldn't re-schedule's give several weeks notice?)
1 - Has anyone else had a similar experience?
2 - What is our recourse or next steps to properly reschedule the interview?
    Thank you!

Yes! I just had the same situation happen to me. I am consulting with a lawyer tomorrow. Were you able to resolve it?
