  • Did you get an official "biometrics appointment have been cancelled" notice?

Our biometrics appointment was scheduled for April 1st. On April 1st, the USCIS website mentioned that all appointments have been cancelled due to COVID, so we decided not go (the website of the uscis center itself also mentioned that all appointments have been cancelled).

Did anyone of you get a cancellation notice? We're afraid we should have showed up at the center on April 1st since we didn't get any notice from USCIS. The case status hasn't been updated yet and still shows "we accepted the fingerprint fee".

Everyone got a cancellation notice but don't worry about it, no USCIS offie or ASC was open in April. ASCs started in opening in July with different dates for each location, very few on 7/13, most on 7/20 and rest on 7/27. You don't have to worry about not going to for Apr 1 appointment. They have started scheduling and rescheduling appointments though, so be on the lookout for your new appointment. All appointments will be scheduled with 90 days of ASC opening. So check when yours opened and if you don't get an appointment within 90 days of reopening, contact USCIS.
