  • Need Advice: Interview Completed, Case Reviewed, EB3 now current

Hi all, would like to get some advice here. Filed i-485 in October 2018 and have been jumping through many hoops as the rest of you have as well. I had my interview in the Boston field office back in March 2020 and it went well, however, the officer told me it shouldn't have any issues but to expect a decision soon. I was suprised to hear this at this time since USCIS pushed back the EB-3 dates so I was no longer current at the time and my lawyer has already advised me on this. Couple days later, the status changed to "
Interview Was Completed And My Case Must Be Reviewed"... and I've been waiting patiently until EB-3 became current in July 2020.

We are now going to hit September 2020 and I have had no updates on the case status or anythign like that, what can I do at this point since it's been over 120 days without taking formal legal action? What have other people experienced in this scenario and what do you think may be happening and causing such a delay? Is there anyway I could do a follow-up on this?

My lawyer says nothing I can do at this point other than wait it out...

If I were you I will visit: https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/ to review the times for the I-485, then click on "Inquire about a case outside normal processing time" to open a case about it. Good luck.

Hi there thats funny, our timelines are almost identical. We had our interview in Lawrence, MA at the very beginning of March, EB3 through my husbands work, my interview was after my husband's and I was told that our GCs were approved and we should get them in few weeks time. Only after reading this forum I found out that our PD retrogressed in March and not much we can do. So I was checking our case status online once a week only to see my husbands and our 2 daughters cases to change last week from "Interview completed and your case must be reviewed" to "Your case was approved", that was last Friday. My case still says "Interview was completed..." Today my husband and our daughters received notice letters in the post but my online case still says the same I panicked first (still am) but I did not realize that for I485 place of birth matters. My husband and our daughters were born in Ireland, I was born in Belarus and I didn't think it should matter much but thats the only explanation I have for my case status not to change. I ve seen here few days ago someone with same time line as ours and EB3 from Germany being approved last week as well. So I am hoping my case is somewhere in a pile with other cases from Belarus? I might be completely wrong though but I honestly don't see why my case was not approved at the same time as my husband's and daughters. Maybe someone here knows if my theory is right? And maybe depending on where you were born - your case will be approved soon? Hopefully!

I just received a case status update today, New Card is Being Produced. EB3, the rest of the world. PD was Feb 2019, it became current in August 2020. The previous update was in Feb 2020 that they have received my RFE response. I guess the interview is waived.

Sorry, I don't have any other advice than to wait it out. But I hope my timeline can give you an idea of waiting time.
