I had applied for GC AOS through marriage to USC.
wanted to provide a quick summary of the interview.
we had to drive about 3 hours to the venue since we were not scheduled for the closest office. We went there the night before and that way we could sleep reasonably well .
Interview was at 10 am, and we arrived at 9:40 am. Parked and checked in. The lady behind the counter was super nice, assured it would all turn out ok. She even told us that our interviewer is a nice person.
so the day was off to a good start, we then went through security and were directed to a waiting room that was more or less empty . We waited perhaps 30 minutes before our bame was called. The officer led us to her room and we were sworn in.
she told us to sit and asked us for original birth certificate for both of us, IDs, marriage certificate, and prior divorce decrees.
i provided them, she scanned through and proceeded to file. She asked us for bonafides. We had tons of bills and property deed. I explained the important bits, she took it on face value and started to glance through and file.
she Asked us how we met and kept looking through documents as we spoke, but she kept the conversation very personable, sharing minor details of how she could relate to us. Which i felt was very very nice of her.
then we shared picture printouts with labels of our timeline and out travels together. She exclaimed that we travel a lot!!
The last bit we just chatted about life and random stuff about big city small city. Small talk.
she then informed us that she would approve later today. And gave me some information on how to remove conditions since we were granted a conditonal GC.
told us when to expect the card anf the notice and what to do if they dont turn up.
she was very professional , but kind and helpful. Like someone happy to welcome a foreigner into the country.
That was it. Very relieved.
the uscis website said “new card produced “ for a day since then says “your case was approved”
