Drivers license expiring during pending AOS - don't have I-485 receipt notice

Hi all,

My California drivers license is expiring on 6/18/2021, same time as my STEM OPT EAD card, which I had used as identification when I got my license.
I have a pending adjustment of status application that I filed in 12/2019. However, I did not receive the notice of action (I-797) for that application.

What alternative document can I use to prove valid legal status? I have an EAD card associated with the AOS application but it expired in February. I did not file to renew it until a month after it expired, so I don't have the 180 day extension or the new card.

You can get an AB60 driver's license, which does not need legal presence documents.

MA031993 hi, I believe the AOS EAD 180 extension still applies to you. You may want to double check.
I would also reach out to your US senator or congressperson to inquire on the status of your EAD/AP renewal.
You can also call USCIS and place a request to expedite it.

To get a 180-day automatic extension:

Properly filed for a renewal EAD before their current EAD expired

I'm worried that OP did not receive the I-485 receipt. Did you try to do an e-request to get a duplicate?
