  • Birth Certificate for GC process

I am Indian Citizen with birth certificate and name change Gazette. I need to submit my birth documents for the I-485 GC process
    Document Details :
    a) Indian Birth Certificate with name in English
    b) Gazette has old name and new name in English
    c) Gazette title, headings and initial pages are not in English ( in Marathi). The last 2-3 pages with few names are in English
Gazette was created few weeks after birth. Since that day have been using the name on the Gazette so all leaving certificates / passport/ visas have gazette name.

    Queries :
While submitting for I-485, have following queries:

    a) Should I submit both - Birth Certificate and Gazette as part of application?
If so then, how do I handle the Gazette pages that are in non english?

    b) Is there way to request birth certificate with the Gazette name ( new name) from India so can simplify by having just 1 document

Look to your guidance on it

There are "USCIS Certified Translation Services" available from many different companies out there. Try googling around. I've used RushTranslate for official translation of various documents that were in French, and they were cheap and effective but required us to do some proofreading. My spouse found some small translation errors, so we requested a revision and they were able to turn it around quickly with the corrected phrasing. Overall I'd recommend their service as long as you have the ability to get someone you trust to also check the translation.
