  • EAD 180-day automatic extension

    Hi,

So, my EAD expires on August 25th, I have requested an extension priority date of 6/24/2021.
Do I get a 180-day automatic extension? My category is C09

I've read on the USCIS website that I fall into this category and will ask my lawyer on Monday, would give me peace of mind if you guys can confirm before that.
Always thinking there might be a catch lol

    Appreciate y'all

Yes, you will receive a receipt that will say that your expired card and the receipt will let you legally work for 180 days past the expiration date.

I hope you get your GC soon, they are taking around 10 months for EAD approvals, even renewals.

Thank you so much for your response! Didn't know they were sending a receipt on the expired card.

I do hope I get my GC during this time, New York is taking forever

They don't send a receipt on the expired card. When you send a renewal application for I-765/I-131, you will receive a receipt for each, the receipt for I-765 will say that with it and the expired EAD you can continue working for 180 days.
