Made mistake in Form I 765 during AOS application

Hi all, I made a mistake while filing form I 765 (along with I 485). The error was in Part 1 of I-765 where I have selected 1.c instead of 1.a. My documents are under review and I have the receipt notices (got in mail on 08/21/2021).
However, I did not receive any notice from USCIS yet about the above error I made in form I-765.

I called USCIS today , and they told me to mail a letter to National Benefit Center detailing what mistake I made and what corrections I wanted. Does anybody have any experience/idea about this process of sending application to correct an error ?
Should I include a new completed (and corrected) form I 765 with this mail that I was told to send to National Benefit Center ?

with your receipt, all you have to do is filed this form online to make the correction.

I made an error last August on the I-765. I made the request to fix it online. USCIS did it in less than 15 days. No need to send letter.
