I'm planning to go to USA con December (with my 10 yr visa) and upon arrival request a change of status through my mom. She's a 82 yr old Citizen living with my sister in NJ. Is this possible? may I apply for a work permit while waiting for the visa number? any inputs or orientation will be greatly appreciated!!

Are you married or single? You cannot get a work permit till the application is approved and you priority date is current.
