  • Looking for information to move to live in the United States and work

I am from Guatemala and I am currently 17 years old, I am thinking that when I reach the age of majority I would like to work in the United States and live there legally. I dedicate myself to the entertainment and entertainment sector (live sound, audiovisual management and handling of the equipment in general) and also the job that I would be most interested in doing, which is to be a lighting technician/programmer/designer/operator.

Apart from that, I would like to know how I could get a visa for that and what type it would be. Also I have some questions:

I have seen that there are some types of work visas but everyone already asks for a contract or a job offer. Is there not a type of visa with which I can go to look for a job there? Or do I necessarily have to look for it from my country and then apply for a work visa?

After all, to make it clear, my interest is in being able to reside and work permanently in the United States, but I am from scratch and there are issues that I still do not understand about visas and all that. Thanks.

I'm sure someone will come along to offer more advice but the basic routes to GC are

    Relative of a US citizen
    Work/Employment routes
First preference immigrant worker (EB-1) (Priority worker)
    EB2 route
H1B Sponsorship from a US company
    Investment route (eg EB-5 Visa)
    Lottery system (Diversity Visa)

    so in other words
    • Marry a US Person
    • Get a Job with a US Company
    • Set up a US company
    • Get Lucky
