Does H visa invalid if EAD is used?

I have a long time for H1-B visa to expire. I am about to obtain an EAD.

Is the H visa invalid if EAD is used?
If my wife does not use EAD but I use EAD then does her H4 expire too?

Once you use EAD, you are considered an applicant for AOS, same with your wife if you filed her I-485 too and H-1 becomes invalid. You can always apply for EAD(just in case) and continue your H-1 status(without using EAD)

But here is the situation. We filed for AOS. I ahve yet toget an EAD. My wife went to India. When I get EAD and then USE it, will my wife have any trouble in getting back?

We have alos, applied for AP but we do not know when we will get that?

When you USE EAD you have to let your employer know about it by filing form I-9.

Yes, H visa is invalid afyer USING EAD and not mere possessing it.
