To whom it may concern:
I have a situation here in NJ. My company is now in Chapter 11 bankruptcy. We think the company will file Chapter 7 bankruptcy soon. If Ch.7 happens, can you please review the following options came up by me, and tell me what is my best option besides option?
Status for my wife and myself: (I am the primacy applicant)
I-485 Receipt date: 12/11/2000
Notice date: 12/26/2000
EAD received around: 2/2001
If company files Ch.7, what is my best move.
1. Use EAD to work for new employer (If I can get one ASAP). Do I still maintain my status? I will need H1 immediately and start all over again?
2. Forget EAD, I will need H1 immediately and start all over again?
3. Stay at home till 6/11/02 (180 days), then looking for jobs?
4. Should I think about NVC, consular process? Or, don't even think about it?
5. Any other suggestions?
