I'm sponsoring my husband to get his adjustment of status. We're happily married for over 2 years now and have all the required documents ready. However, I just found out that our lawyer didn't include my (sponsor) birth certificate in the package (they only sent my husband birth certificate + my naturalization paper), and now it's stated in the letter for the interview that we need to bring the birth certificate (doesn't say original). I lost mine but I have a copy and a copy of translated ones that's already notarized. We checked online, and they don't ask for RFE.
- Does the immigration require a copy of my birth certificate as well? or just for the applicant?
- Can I submit a copy and a translated birth certificate, notarized?
- What documents will they need from petitioner, other than birth certificate and naturalization/ passport?
