GC received few months after return 2 india

Hello, I left for India in Dec 2013 when my 485 was still pending. I did not expect it to be approved anytime soon. However, i ve received the card in Apr 2013 while I am still in India. What can I do to keep the GC in active status without having to return to US for permanent residency immediately. Pls help. THanks.

You risk your gc after six months. If you stay away longer than a year, it will automatically be considered abandoned...

Thanks for the reply. Can I ask a couple of followup questions.

- Can I reenter within one year? I suppose I dont need any document (reentry permit) other than my green card if I enter with one year?
- Once I enter, can i apply for the reentry permit?
