Questions 10 and 11 in Returning Resident Status Application
Dear Seniors,
My parents were awarded green card in oct 2005 which after entering US they extended for another 2 years. Again they entered in 2008 and extended for another two years. Last time when they entered in 2009, they filed for extension of another one year but at that moment biometrics were introduced and by the time they came to know this they were back in India. We had requested US embassy to take biometrics here but they didn't.
Now there green card expired in aug 2011, before that they wanted to leave india for good, but due to my fathers sickness they could not make it. Now if I file for their returning resident status, how to answer the following two questions:
1- What continuing ties you have maintained with US? What efforts have you made to avoid abandoning your permanant resident status in US?
2- reasons for not returning to the US until time of this application.
Seniors, I also request you to please advise the percentage chances that US embassy will consider this plea.
Also my parents are aged 77 and 71 respectively.
