  • Multiple employers - How to file TAX

    Hi,

I am getting into a strange situation of having dual employers after getting GC.

Ofcourse, One of them is PT.

At the end of the year, Does anyone have an idea, How the Tax filing needs to be done ?

    Thanks in advance.

    An additional Info:

I am getting paid from both the companies on W2 only.

The taxes are to be paid on the total w2 basis. If one of the companies are paying on 1099 ( not an employee), still the taxes are to be paid on the total income basis.

Multiple employers - How to file TAX

        Hi,

I do not understand 1099, the only thing is they are planning to pay me by W2.

So, Should I tell one of them to pay by 1099 or something.

        Thanks

You can't ask a company to give you an 1099 if you are an employee. 1099s are for contractors and the like.
You just add all the W2s together to calculate your income. There may be a couple issues with your allowances, but that's it. If you are unsure, get one of the tax programs, like Turbotax. These programs know how to deal with it. Or go to a CPA.

With GC you can work for anyone, anytime, anywhere.

As long as you pay your taxes no one will care.

                  Re: Multiple employers

You can work for anybody you like, unless you have signed an employment contract that explicitly forbids that or requires approval from the employer.
This is not a GC issue, it is strictly a contract issue between you and your employer(s).
