Hi, I was just wondering what are the different reasons that GC could be revoked. I know about the staying away from US for more than 6 months. Are there any other reasons?

Revoke GC
You can have it revoked if convicted of serious crimes - drug related crimes are a good example. If you were caught selling crack you would go to jail and then be immediately deported upon release.
Also if you put false information on any of the forms you filled out during the process of obtaining it and the INS finds out they can revoke it and deport you. -
That's one year, not 6 months.
I agree with kw177.
If you lied since you were ineligible (e.g. had no intent to work for sponsor) or if you become a criminal, member of Nazi/communist org. etc. or if you do not maintain US residence.Comment

ok thanks. these are pretty extrmemecases.. im sure nobody would fall into this kinda mess.. well anyhow.. just an update. we got out plastic gc's last week. interview in mumbai was too cool.. thanks for all urs help.Comment

Any felony which carries a sentence of over 1 year is a deportable offense. In some states (I think NY), a DUI is enough.
