filing I-90: Have to submit plastic ? Processing time ?

Hi,

I am about to file I-90 for there has been a mistake on INS's part in my wife's alien #. Will they take away the plastic card when we file the I-90 ?
How much time does it take for the I-90 processing ?
My INS service center was TSC. But local INS service center (here, I am going to file the I-90) is the one in San Jose, CA. CP DOE on July 24th, New York.

I am assuming I90 takes as long as getting cards. Since now you moved to CSC, it will take this much time (I think ~10 months). They may very well take her card. Make a copy before giving them this card.

I filed I-90 at the INS San Jose office in Nov. (spelling mistake in my first name on the plastic).

I had to give my plastic card and was told that it will take 10-11 months to get a new one.

Make sure that you have a copy of the card before giving it.
