    Hello,

I'm a GC holder, left US with the intention of settling down abroad. Few months later, I changed my mind and planning to return back to US by end of 2015. I'm regretting for not applying I-130 before I left. I do not want to abandon my GC. At the same time, my husband and kids are US citizen, can this be helpful for me to get my GC reinstated. I still have a valid US address and maintaining bank account and credit cards. Kindly advise what are the best options available for my case and what is the next step I should do. Thanks in advance.

What date did you leave the U.S.?
What date does your Green Card expire?

With the above information, it will be easier to respond to your message with constructive suggestions.

I left US on 7/6/2014. My GC is expiring on 1/ 13/16. Appreciate any suggestions.

If your Green Card is good for 12 more months, and you have only been out of the U.S. 5 months, what seems to be the problem?

If you return to the U.S. anytime before July of 2015, you can apply for a Reentry Permit, stay long enough to complete Biometrics, then leave again.

You said you regret not "applying for an I-130 before you left..." Did you mean I-131?
