Plastic Card

Hello all. Let me introduce myself as Algori. Family & Me
went for CP and entered through SFO on DEC 25th 2001.
We have been waiting since then with our temporary GCS
and have not got our plastic cards.

On calling an Immigration Officer yesterday at CSC I got
to know that our case was located at Data Entry. She could
not get any other information on entering the A#s into
her computer.

Could some one tell me how long it will be before we all
get our plastic cards.

Plastic Card

Hello Algori,

If you read previous postings, you will see that SFO is the worst POE as far as delays for getting plastic cards - anywhere between 4 to 6 to 8 months.

Do not worry; the stamp in your passport is valid for 1 year and grant you the exacr same privileges as the plastic card; no more; no less.

Fo having been through the process myself, I understand that the plastic card puts a finality to long and harduous experience but you have nothing to worry about at this time.

How did you enquire your status at CSC ?

Can please share with me what is the telephone number to enquire about the Plastic card status at CSC ? Earlier we had WAC number to get to the automated system for enquiring about status of I-140, do I need to talk to a representative or can I get this information from their automated IVR system.

Hi Mihika,

I called the CSC # 949-831-8427. It took me about 1/2 hr to get through and talk to an IIO. I asked her for an SRC # which I thought I should be able to use with the automated system to monitor my plastic card status. She said that such a number is given only by the Texas Service Center and not by CSC. She had no information to share with me but that my plastic card status is - Data Entry. She said that
the delay is because of backlog. I still do not have an SRC #.

Question for Algori

Did you give the A# to the IIO at CSC or did you
just give your name to get the fact that your case
is at Data Entry ?

I entered on Dec 2nd and when I gave my A# to the
CSC IIO, she said that they have no record of it
at all.

Hello tkcp,

I gave her my A#. She could not pull out any information. I told her I needed the SRC # badly. She could not get any information using my A# in the first 10 mts.

Then she did a search by name and got to my L1 Application which was approved last year and could not get to my GC.
She could not trace it even after 30 mts.

As a last attempt I asked her to try my wife's and son's A#s. Luckily she got to know that they were in data entry status. When I asked her why mine was not in the data entry status she said all three were in data entry status.

I don't know what she means by data entry and how long it is going to take. I know that others have some how managed to get SRC #s using their A# s and used them with the automated system successfully.

It's usually on your passport

you find the A# on your immigrant visa if you go through CP.

I have a number starting with E21*** . Is it the number.

It is entered into your passport along the side of the I-551 stamp at the Port Of Entry.
