Empoyer Change before Plastic Card

This is very urgent, can anybody help me on this?

My CP was approved, and my port of entry is LA in last November. And I have not receive my plastic card yet(expecting May). Now I need to change employer. People have talked a lot that it's OK to switch employer 3 months after Green Card. My question is, is this 3 months referring to after plastic green card, or after stampping passport(I551)?

Since POE date.
Where did you learn about the 3 months rule?
I know from past postings that people were talking about 6 months, some said a year.

My understanding is that there is no law that says so but INS may come up with its own.

Note the Green Card is for a Permenant Job. So I don't think you may ever get the INS trying to define a specfic time limit such as 3/6/12 months as required before switching jobs.

Again Permenant does not mean for ever or for life. Its ones own decision and discreeting to decide when to leave or not to leave at all.

Just remember that is ever the INS does get you and question you ( I have never seen this happen but if it does)have sufficient grounds to prove that you had permenant job intensions when you did get the Green card. That's all.
