New SS Card after GC

After getting one's GC, can one update their Social Security card so that it no longer states "Not valid for employment purposes without INS authorization"

If not, does it mean that a person must show GC and SS card to get new job?

SS card

Once you get GC, you need to go to local SS office and inform them of change of status. They will collect you SS card along with form SS5 and the new card will be mailed to you after removing all the restrictions. The SS number will not change.

US driver license and social security card is enough as long as the SSC does not have any restriction on it.
