  • Sticky Problem?

I am in the US on a green card (DV). The middle name and surname are switched from what is on the passport, i.e the passport is FIRST NAME, MIDDLE NAME, SURNAME while the GC is FIRST NAME, SURNAME, MIDDLE NAME. I applied for change of GC due to error by USCIS, but they declined stating that on initial application, the names used were as appear on GC. However, even visa stamp at embassy in home country matches the passport name, and also social security card. Not sure what to do. Any advice would be welcome. The GC application was done by a family member

Normally, USCIS uses the name as submitted on the I-130 (or any official) petition. If the primary petition has your name in the incorrect format, you must assume responsibility for the error and be prepared to pay the $450 fee to get the error corrected.
