Trying to re entry to US with an expired green card

Dear All,

I have been reading forum about the green card issues and comments. I would like to share my problem and questions.

I have got my green card 03 july 2012 from my wife. And it expired 03 july 2014. I have moved last year on february to Turkey. I have been here like 19 month. The reason coming back to Turkey because of my father passed away. I have fight with psychological problems after losing him. And my wife was very supportive on that.I have my medical papers from my doctor and death of my dads papers. Im still married and my wife lives in NY.

Now i want to go back to NY because of my wife. But my green card is expired. What should i do from now? Some people saying just go with an expired green card you are already married and show your documents (Death and medical psychological docs of mine) to Border officers. You may enter thru to NY. But its sounds like risky.

I really need your helps.

You can apply for a "returning resident visa" at the U.S. Embassy in Ankara, but it may be denied. Your wife can repetition you and you should then get your new spousal visa in 9-12 months.

Attempting to reenter the U.S. with an expired Green Card makes no sense at all, unless you relish being returned to Turkey within a few hours of arrival in NYC.

Thanks Ray appreciate it. My attorney telling me that he has to apply i-751 and a permit for my re entry. I dont know what is he talking about. My conditional green card status already terminated.

I should follow your instructions. Otherwise attorney will be make a lot of money from my pocket.By the way i spoke with USCIS. They also mentioned about my terminated status. How can i be stupid like that.
