I applied for the reentry permit and did the fingerprint then i travelled outside USA , and i will remain about 2 years outside USA , and I received my reentry permit last month and when i opened it , I found that sentence in it (it is suggested that you call or communicate with your local office of the district director of internal revenue , united state treasury department , for information concerning such a certificate. this should be done within 30 days of the date of your proposed departure from the united states.) and I did not do anything before travelling , so can you advise me what should I have to do now?

Here is the full notice written on my reentry permit:

    Information on income tax laws
For holder of the travel document
UNITED STATES INCOME TAX- Section 6851(d) of Title 26, United States Code, provides as follows. “No alien shall depart from the United States unless he or she first procures from the secretary or his delegate a certificate that he or she has complied with all the obligations imposed upon him or her by the income tax laws.” It is suggested that you call or communicate with your local office of the district director of internal revenue, United states treasury Department, for information concerning such a certificate. This should be done within 30days of the date of your proposed departure from the United States.

it says can be filed "within 30days of the date of your proposed departure from the United States", so even a month after your departure. makes no sense to not be able to file for it from abroad.

do you have a US mailing address still? somebody you can have it send to?

other than that, i doubt the immigration officer has access to your tax reports.. but I wouldn't know for sure. as long as you have the i-131, you should be good. does the i-131 say anything about this tax stuff? I mean on the document itself?

Thats weird I file the form I-131 all the time for my clients & never had that problem. It normally goes like this....

          - File form I-131
          - Wait for the biometric appointment (tiger prints)
          - You could either wait for the reentry booklet to come before you leave or you can always leave & have someone mail it out to you.

*If this is the first time you file for the I-131 the reentry booklet that they send you looks like a green passport book*

yes I have a mailing address , but IRS said in the instruction that I have to file before travel, in the application itself mention that i have to file all my taxes, and on the Reentry permit itself written that notice :Information on income tax laws

You are right. I asked my friend to check her I-131 and it's there. I guess nobody ever really looks at it. Rest assured, she and her husband didn't even know it was there.

so do you think it is not important and will not affect my reentry after 2 years with the reentry permit?

I think that considering nobody on this forum has ever heard of it, not even Nunez who seems to be some kind of advisor/consultant, it is safe to assume you can neglect it for now. My friend is going back to the states in 4 days. I doubt they're gonna ask her about taxes but if they do, I'll sure let you know.

You need to apply for a new re-entry permit before yours expires. If you return to the US with an expired GC, expired re-entry permit, you will be sent back. also make sure you keep ties to the US (bank account, credit card, friends, car, rent, etc.), because even if you are in possession of a valid re-entry permit, after such long time, the US may consider you as having abandoned your intention to permanently live in the US and refuse entry.

I will return back to USA before the expiration date of my Green card and reentry permit by 2 months , and I am having a bank account, credit cards, engineering license, driving license, filling my worldwide federal taxes each year and friends but I do not have home or car, so is that enough? Regarding my history in USA , can you also advise me if I can do anything more?

I think that's fine. I would't have more evidence than you do, actually!
