Changing address before green card is sent

I sent my new address in the US to the embassy prior to my interview. However when I checked the paper attached to my sealed envelope (when my Visa was issued) I noticed that the old address is used but other papers like medical exam has the latest address. So I was wondering how to make sure DOS has the right address when they send my green card. My other question would be Do I need to be in the US when the green card is sent to me? I might need to fly back and arrange other necessities.
