Can I get my green card back from embassy?

    Can I get my green card back from embassy?

    I was outside USA for a long time so I had to give my card back last year. Now I want to go back to USA and find a job. Actually I applied to couple of companies but applying to H-1 visa is a mess and if I can get my card back, it will be easier. What can I do? Thank you for your help.

    As long as your green card has not expired. You can come to USA but if it's expired you have to apply for new H1 visa.

      But I gave the card to embassy so I don't have it . Will this change the situation? But it wasn't expired if you look at the date on the card.

        That means you surrender your green card. So there will not be any change in your situation. You have to apply all over again if you are qualify.
