Hi,
My wife and son has valid Green card, but they went to India to take care parents. They are returning back to USA after 11 months.
I inquired with Mumbai consulate; as per them, a green card holder can stay outside of U.S. for one year. Hence, within the one year period of time, you may travel back to U.S with the green card.
Any experience or guidance will be helpful.
