Time gap between exit and entry into USA

Hi Gurus
I am a US citizen so are my kids. They were naturalized by me by my citizenship.
My wife is a Green Card Holder for many years and she used to leave USA say 2015 around June and return back in Apr next year 2016 (for example).

In 2016 she left USA on June 11th still in India, can she return around Apr 2017?

Since there was a change in the presidential candidature (Donald) will there be an issue for her reentry or
any new laws for G C has been enacted recently. Pl help.

Based on your response I will decide her return to India.

My kids are at present there in India for studies. This has been happening certain family reasons.

She is obviously not maintaining residence in the US, especially since she has been doing this "for many years", and she can be denied entry at any time, no matter how long or short the last trip was. There is nothing new about that.
