travel document?

Me and my wife got our "green card" this year from asylum process (several years ago). Because of something urgent we have to travel out from US on this mid of June 06. We applied I-131 (travel document) on last April 06, however, until now we haven't got the travel document yet. Can we use our passport from our country of origin (still valid) since we haven't got our travel document? (For information, we are not going to our country of origin, and we only travel for 2 weeks.) For re-enter to US, we can use our green card, right?

You only need travel document if you have an AP pending. If not use your GC to travel
