Also note that your immigrant visa, upon entry, automatically becomes an I-551 (equivalent to a green card in all ways; a green card is also just an I-551) valid for 1 year from the date of entry. So it doesn't really matter how long it takes to receive the plastic card, as long as it's less than one year after you enter.
