Getting ss number

I am in USA - secaucus now (first visit after getting gc approval) it?s been 15 days today.

1. Will my ss no be mailed to my USA address by default or do I have to call/visit (who/where)
2. How/where to check my physical gc status (have paid all immigration fees before landing in USA)
