My reentry permit is due to expire March 26th. My most recent trip back to the US was October 30th -- November 5th.
I've been out of the country for most of 2017 and 2018 on this permit. But I've been back multiple times, and at least once every six months. I've filed my taxes, maintained an address, renewed my drivers license, maintained correspondence with friends and former colleagues.
Regarding returning: should I absolutely enter the country by March 26th, to be covered by the permit? Or, since my last exit was within 6 months, is a return in the first half of April be acceptable? Would that behavior be a flag on my records if I naturalize in the future?
Editing to add: I'm a UK citizen living in the EU, and I'm paying attention to Brexit. We're not really sure how this will all line up, or whether it's advantageous for me to be here on March 30th when brexit happens.
